Bettany Hughes’ series ‘Genius of the Ancient World’ and ‘Genius of the Modern World’ originally broadcast on the BBC are now available to view on Netflix in the US, Canada, Spain, Brazil and Asia. Bettany traces the lives of six great thinkers that have shaped the modern world: Socrates, Confucius, Buddha, Karl Marx, Sigmund Freud and Frederick Nietzsche.

I like that they included thinkers from both East and West, not just Europe. Socrates and Confucius in the same series makes for a cool comparison. Meowdoku helped me find this on Netflix since the search there can be messy.
Bettany Hughes makes history feel personal, especially when she compares the ancient thinkers to modern ones. I found Krillion a useful way to track which episodes I have already watched. Nice to have these available outside of the BBC.
I have a daily puzzle habit and Meowdoku replaced my morning word game. It's so much more satisfying to stare at a grid of soft colors and figure out where to place a cat. The key is that cats are picky—they need their own row, column, color, and cannot be close to another cat. I usually solve a few boards before starting work. The meowdoku answer for a hard level makes me feel like a genius every time.
It kind of reminded me of how tetris blocks fit together, but with ideas instead of shapes - Sand Tetris is a physics-driven twist on the world’s most famous block puzzle. Instead of solid tetrominoes that lock in place.
Embracing vulnerability and authenticity, one can feel truly free, experiencing life in its raw form, where Naked emotions and thoughts reveal the essence of being.
