2009- Bettany was invited to re-open the new Ashmolean Museum, Oxford after its 61 million pound re-design. She was given a Special Award for Services to Hellenic Culture and Heritage by the Greek state. Her Youtube films on East/West understanding with the Foundation for Science Technology and Civilisation were part of the content that won Queen Rania's Youtube site Youtube's first ever Visionary Award. |

April 2- 'THE CROSS' Good Friday Special, BBC One April 5- Channel 4, 5.30 pm, Bettany is the special guest of Time Team, looking at Britains Napoleonic Prisoner of War Camp. May 24- A HISTORY OF THE WORLD IN 100 OBJECTS- The Warren Cup, BBC Radio 4 Late Summer- THE SEARCH FOR ATLANTIS on BBC 2 September- THE ARYANS, BBC Radio 3 October- THE HEMLOCK CUP- A major new book on Socrates, published by Jonathan Cape in the UK and Knopf in the US. Next year Bettany will be a judge on the Orange Prize and will be starting a major new series for BBC Radio 4. She is also producing a landmark series on the story of Civilisation- starting East and Working West, in conjunction with the Centre for the Alliance of Civilisations in Istanbul.
